Hello
Ah yes, that feels much better, doesn't it? If I'm being honest, I don't like taking pictures. I never have. Mostly because I don't like my smile. It's not that I don't like smiling; I just don't like smiling on command. Since I was old enough to be self-conscious, it has pretty much always been that way. Thankfully, the day I took this picture, the photographer and I hit it off. He cracked a few jokes, took the pressure off, and would ya look at that: a not so horrible picture. Okay, now that I've broken the ice with how unphotogenic I can be, we can start getting to know one another.
On the off chance that you're feeling very confused and accidentally skipped over that last page, click here. Otherwise, keep reading.
Okay, back to getting to know one another. I love basketball, like I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I know what some of you may be thinking: sports-shallow-bros-drinking-recklessness-pointless-idolizing celebrities-competition-lacks-meaning. One of my classmates once said: I want you all to know that I love sports, but I'm not an asshole. Yes.
What else...? I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago and spent my entire life in nurturing, yet sheltering, white Jewish institutions: elementary school, middle school, summer camp, youth groups, Synagogue, you name it. While I don't always love "outing myself" as a Jew, I feel like it's a pivotal part of my identity, one that has led to a lot of the writing for this project.

About the Project

If you just got here and are beginning at the About Page, welcome to my Capstone Project. This project will explore homelessness, a topic that everyone witnesses but that is seldom analyzed and discussed. Before jumping in, it feels appropriate to first acknowledge the container that made this project possible: The Sweetland Minor in Writing.
The Writing Minor, uniquely catering to the needs and desires of each individual student, has pushed me to create, develop, and institute an idea into something much bigger. It gave me the autonomy and responsibility to take ownership over an entire semester of college. While I could continue to go on about it, enough with the build up. Let's jump right in.
