About

Hi, and welcome to my e-portfolio.

See that guy over there? I know. Why isn't he smiling? Is he trying to smolder? Does he have something in his teeth or something? Full disclosure, I actually asked the photographer if we could take a few "no smile" pictures (he called it teeth closed). He said it suited me. I think he was just being polite.

Anywho... here's a little bit about me. It's spring 2018 and I'm a senior at the University of Michigan. What am I doing after graduation? No comment. A good friend once told me that when you're meeting someone for the first time, you shouldn't just jump into the easy, surface level, judgment-forming questions like where are you from? What are you studying? You're going to be a doctor? You're going to law school? Wow, good for you. What are you thinking about after graduation? You don't have a plan? Really?

So I'll skip the credentials and formalities for now.

What I will tell you is that I'm a writing minor, which has led us here. Do I identify as a writer? Uhh, yes. I don't drink coffee, my room isn't one giant bookshelf, and I don't get lost in between pages and pages of poetry on warm summer nights. I do, however, love to explore, unpack, and reflect on my lived experiences through the act and art of writing. I love the way ideas are created, changed, and then ultimately take shape all on the written page. I'm interested in how I and others experience social issues and social justice when put on a blank canvas.

Oh, and if you haven't clicked on the picture of me, you can go ahead and do that now.
